Hi,

I'm a new festoolie.  I am trying to figure out what sort of adapter I need to connect my CT 26 hose to my Leigh jig VRS dust collector port.  Anyone else use the Leigh jig and VRS attachment with a Festool dust extractor?

Thanks,

My VRS attachment came with an adapter that fits the standard hose.  The combination works very well.

Hi,

Does anyone know if the Hose Sleeve, Non-Antistatic Hose Reducer, item# 452897 will allow me to connect my CT 26 36 mm hose connector end to a Leigh VRS dust extractor fitting that accepts a 2 inch Shopvac hose?  Baffles me why Festool does not have inside and outside dimensional diagrams for these items given all the post about hose sizes.

Thanks,

Hi,

Welcome to the FOG!  [smile]

Just to be clear.... you are using a Festool D36 hose or the D27 that comes with the CT26?

So you need to upsize the D36 to a 2" end to connect to the jig?  I think ( but I am not certain) based on the catalog description that the part you list will do that.

Also note that a regular  shop vac hose will fit the CT port, so if you have one around that fits the jig try the other end in the CT port.

Whenever we dump an old vacuum cleaner I always keep the attachment bits and pieces. I have a short piece that provides the match between my D4 and my CTL26. I think the tubes from pumped toothpaste dispensers might fit but have not tried it.

Thanks for the advice.  I have the 27 mm hose, which I suspected would get clogged easily.  My 2 inch Sears "shopvac" hose is very stiff and makes the Leigh VRS track bind when dovetailing.  I'll look into other 2 inch hose options.

Cheers!

As already stated the 27mm & 36mm Festool hoses connect to the VRS.  The internal diameter of the outlet on the VRS is 23.5mm.  With this in mind, I doubt a wider hose will avoid clogging.  I have not experienced any problem using a 27mm hose with my CT26.
