I would like to use my new Festool CTL26E to a Fein MultiMaster for dust control.
Do you know what adapter I need to connect both of them?
Welcome to the Festool Owners Group and congratulations on getting the brand-new CTL26E dust extractor! They are not yet available in the USA, so you won't find many members with one to give you hands-on feedback.
Having said that, the CT26 series should use the same system of 27mm and 36mm hoses and hose connectors that the previous CT11-CT55 series use, so you're not totally out in the cold!
My Multimaster was the "Top" version and as such it came with the Dust Extraction kit, described below:
Dust extractor
2 sanding pads, perforated; 5 of each type of sanding sheet perforated, grain 60, 80 and 120; 1 extractor hood with suction tube; 2 hose nozzles for hose connection ? 27 and 32 mm plus 2 adapters for connection to the most common domestic vacuum cleaners. For the FEIN MULTIMASTER FMM 250/250Q. Order number 9 26 02 081 01 0
If you have the FMM 250 or 250Q, you will need to order this kit for the Multimaster.
The kit includes the following items, and for the purposes of this explanation I will call them a dust extraction tube and a large and small adapter:
Festool dust extractors are normally found with either 27mm or 36mm hoses, and the CTL26E is usually supplied with the 27mm hose. The smaller of the two Multimaster adapters will work with both hose sizes.
To connect to the 27mm hose, fit the smaller adapter to the rear of the Multimaster's dust extraction tube, and then slip the rubber nozzle of the Festool hose over the ridges of the adapter:
To connect to the 36mm hose, fit the smaller adapter to the tube as before, and then slip the rubber nozzle of the Festool hose
all the way over the adapter.
In both cases, the adapter will be able to rotate on the tube, and will stop the tube getting tangled.
If you have any more questions, please just ask.
