Consolidated Q&A for CMS Router Table

Is it possible to put a flip stop on the sliding table fence? Looks like there is a t-nut slot there but can't tell if it would be compatible with anything.

Yes, I had posted that earlier in the thread I think. The stop from the MFT fence will work.

As Shane said the flag stops from the MFT work in the CMS fence to start and stop cuts, imagine mortises.  Also, the stops fit in the sliding table fence so you could have a stop(s) for something like tenons.

I posted this picture earlier in the thread- the Incra flip stop also fits on the fence.

Just attach two auxiliary fences to the aluminum fence using the slot on the front of the festool fence...then proceed as George did.

Ah yes of course!!!

kinda curious whats going on here? I don't see a router

And that video of an oak rail being made almost has me sold. I take it thats an OF 2200 in there? Is it possible to do that same thing with an OF1400 or would it take multiple passes?
 
The video of the oak handrail is an OF 1400 according to the video title.

The image you reference doesn't show a router, correct.

Shane is correct, it's an OF1400 in the video. Pretty hard job for any router but the 1400 is very strong and as you can see does a great job on French Oak.It easily beats my CMT 2000/Dewalt thingy.
 
I went to our local Woodcraft yesterday and they had the one that attaches to the MFT/3 setup.  Tool Porn, wow it was nice.  I will have to start saving.

Someone posted a comment on the video that I should probably be going a bit slower. I agree. I seem to going at it like a nutter but I was pushed making up 10 rails,the spindles,the bottom rails and the posts etc..........and that little router just begs for it  :)

I'll be adding more content to that thread as my CMS with the slider and all has arrived. I was going to work on it this week but I was profusely sweating every time I tried and getting everything soaked. Tomorrow is supposed to start an extended break in the weather...

Shane, is the a plan to have demos at dealerships (Woodcraft which I frequent) and/or utube video?  While training in Indy the router table was in a corner, someone questioned what it was and the instructor gave us a 20 minute review of its capabilities.  It's been long enough that I've forgotten most of it but I was very impressed.  A good demo would probably give me the justification to buy.....

There will be more video from us and I suspect from buyers of the CMS. I know that Brice Burrell has posted some stuff on his blog already (http://greenanddarkblue.blogspot.com/). Dealers who choose to purchase a demo unit should be receiving them or already have received this at this point. You'd have to check with your specific dealer to see if that's the case. Dealers who have foregone a demo unit will receive inventory to sell by October 1st, the official launch date. Remember that we have a 30-day no-risk return policy on the tools if you want to get it and try it out for yourself.
