Consolidated Q&A for TS 55 REQ Tracksaw

Thanks Seth. I know it comes with a track, but I like the fact that it can be used bare. It's on the list.

I just got my invoice & shipping notice for my NEW TS55REQ I pre-ordered from Bob Marino

Bob let me swap the regular 55" glide rail for the Holey 55" rail for a added $10.oo ,
That Holey rail was shipped early & I've already received it last week .
Looking forward to getting my mitts on the New saw ,
On my next influx of fresh  [eek] cash I'll get the 118" rail as I need to break down 4' X 8' sheet goods in both rips & crosscuts
I use a shop & I'm never in the field , so even thou the 118" is expensive the ease of use on rips of long sheet goods is important to me .

Well, I was bad and kept using my REQ until a fix became available.  I sent it in last week and was notified yesterday, that they received my saw.  I hope to have it back soon.  I was careful while using the saw and really like it.  I wouldn't have sent it in at all, being that I wasn't having the "issue", but with all the talk here, I figured I better send it in.  I hope that no adjustments are made to the saw, as I like it exactly the way it is and have cut all my guide rails to the REQ.

Customers should send in their saw whether it is exhibiting the issue or not. All TS 55 REQs should receive the fix and should not be used until they do.

Darita, I would suspect you received an email this evening saying it has shipped. If not, then by tomorrow for sure.  [wink]

Shane, yeah, I did.  Turnaround from the repair is great, as usual.  No complaints here.  Like I said, even given the chance for a 75, I really dig that 55REQ and wouldn't exchange it for anything.

Not sure if this has already been addressed - apologies if it's a dup post...

Are the TS 55 REQ that are now available existing stock that have been fixed or are were they manufactured with the fix in place?

Just curious...

Thanks,
dr

All units that have been repaired to address the recall issue have been marked with a green circular sticker on the motor housing with the letter "G". That's how you can be certain that the saw is not affected by the recall.

Dealers were asked to return all inventory, so presumably all new inventory has been fixed at this point.

I was at a Roadshow event this week and learned a feature about the TS55 REQ that I had not remembered seeing.  It might have been mentioned before and even in the Supplemental manual, but I don't have one yet, and just in case an owner didn't know:

One of the most aggravating situations with the Original TS-55EQ was trying to extend the blade and use a square or triangle to set the bevels and the stops.  You could use the FastFix, but the extension of the blade wasn't far enough to not have inference with the blade tips.

Solution:  The TS 55REQ has two FastFix positions - one to change the blade, and also one at full plunge.  Now you don't need to wrestle to check bevels.

Just I thought I would pass this on.

Hi All,

I was wondering if anyone has a Chart of some kind to show what colours on the Blades relate to what materials?

I would like to pin one up on the workshop wall for quicker blade changing  [smile]

Many Thanks
Graham
