dewalt just released a 7 inch cordless miter and it's only 32 pounds $399
THE SMALLER KAPE88X THAT IS AVAILABLE IN EUROPE WOULD DO GREAT CORDLESS HERE IN THE USA
90% of my miter saw use is small trim pieces , I hate hauling around the kapex120

I have a Makita LS0714 (it has been revamped) which is a great, light and potent little machine. I have yet to bring the Kapex to a worksite. Should Festool make a same size and capacity 18V mitre saw I would grab one. But I would be equally happy with a corded one.

The really cool stunt would be to pull off building a machine that runs both on cord and cordless - now THAT would be awesome sauce.

My cordless little Metabo SCMS is sweet. Haven't worked it hard yet though.

Big thumbs up for the Metabo 18v SCMS from me as well. I've been using it most days now for the last five months doing flooring work, trim work and small reno jobs. Since I bought mine the Kapex hasn't left the workshop.

Milwaukee also has a cordless sliding mitre saw(in Europe). I'm looking for one like that. If Festool isn't coming out with one , I'll probably go for the Milwaukee, when it's available.
