Cordless TS55 pleaseee

On a Festool Workshop a few weeks ago somebody from Festool told me there will be a dual 18V battery TS saw probabely this spring. It will also work on 1 battery and also on 12 and 14,4 V.
Makita also brings out such a saw this year.

Hey was Festool listening ??? to what I said in my post earlier in this thread, that is "Perhaps, if Festool double their maximum powered battery (18 volts) it would be enough but, even then, I am not certain that this would be enough power."

Two 4.2 amp 18 volt batteries might just be enough.  I would certainly be willing to give it a try.

As I mentioned earlier.
Makita also brings out such a Circular Saw XSH01Z (winter 2014???). Also models DHS710/711 appear in the media.
Which of these brands will be the first on the market Festool or Makita?
I'm only a little worried about the weight of saws with 2 batteries.
Makita mentioned that they are not heavier then their AC models.
As others mentioned Festool should also consider other battery powered machines such as recipro saws, vaccums, sanders or planers.

I can't imagine that with LiOn batteries the weight will be too much of a problem that it would offset being able to go cordless.

Bringing back an old thread I've spoken to my local supplier today and Festool ARE bringing out a cordless plunge saw in the next few months! Excited I am

When I had a visit from Germany by one of the Festool tech guys when they were designing the ts55r ,that was one of the questions he asked . Would I like to see a cordless version ? I said no as its not that often I've not got power.

Not happy with you!!!! Poo head!   Always say yes!

For cordless use a dust bag could be attach and still maintain some pretty good dust collection.

I use the bag that came with my Bosch 3" planer, it fits the Festool track saw very well. The bag is great for when I'am cutting outside and don't want to use the vacuum and not trash the customers driveway. Not my idea, I learned it here on the FOG, what a great forum.

I have a question about the video though . . . It seems the fella is changing the dust bags rather rapidly!?  Can he really be filling up those bags that quickly?

Also - I hope they sell this saw bare, without batteries!

What I really wanted to know from the video is how much battery capacity is left after the 30 m of sawing with the TSC 55.
And if you have to change the dust bag that frequently you better use a dust extractor. Then it's not cordless any more????

I handled it at a Construction Fair in Sweden last week. Not too bad actually. 

Should have brought my camera but I was down with fever and just drifted in zombie mode past the booths. I had business with another vendor close by and stopped by Festool to see what the fuzz was.

I am not going for it myself but I can see the use for it if you are invested in the 18V system.
