I bought one of the CT36 vacuum units several years back and it comes with I believe a 36mm hose that is 5m long. Now I have seen a youtube video about putting a PET Expandable Braided Sleeving over the vacuum hose to stop it from catching on your work surface or project when using it connected to your Festools. I have noticed this is a problem when using my sanders and even the domino.
Now I gather that the hose is 36mm that works out to be just below 1.4". Now you can easily get a 1" PET for a very low price and it says it can expand to 150% the listed diameter. So it should theoretically fit. But I have also read that as you expand the PET sleeve, you reduce the flexibility. So I am wondering if it would be better to get a 1 1/4" or a 1 1/2" sleeve. The downside is that those sizes are more than double to cost.
Has anyone used this on their hose and what size sleeve did you use and how does it improve using the hose with your tools. Does it stop the annoying catching of the hose on your work surface/parts?
