Looked all over the webs / YouTube etc and can't see an example of someone with a repeatable cross cut setup like the Angle Unit and Guide Rail supports that come with the MFT/3. For a Festool solution on the MW100 Workshop bench, are folks just using the FS-WA Angle Stop? Is there anything like the MFT guide rail supports that actually attaches to the side of the MW100? Thanks in advance.

The rail profile on the MW1000 is the exact same as the MFT 3, so the rail hinge could be used the same as it is on the MFT 3, but you would need to remove it to transport the extension.  I don't know how painful it would or wouldn't be to also set up the front hinge drop pin in a repeatable manner, although the stop blocks on the MFT are designed to make that process repeatable on the MFT 3 as well.

You'd need a MUCH shorter rail for this, and your capacity is severely limited by the width of the table.  Any time I've used my MW1000 for cross-cutting, I used my HKC55 with the FSK rails, personally, although that can be a pain, too.

"The rail profile on the MW1000 is the exact same as the MFT 3". Thanks for this confirmation. Its looked the same, but I wasn't sure.

I'm not seeing that you can pick up the rail hinge as a separate standalone unit from the MFT/3. So this, together with the reduced cross cut capacity is probably why I'm not seeing any pics/video of anyone doing this. You also make a good point about set-up, but maybe that's not such a concern if the temp workstation will be in place for a while. But agree, maybe not practical for day jobs.

Would be good to hear what other solutions folks are using for repeatable square cross cutting on the MW100. Anyone using the FS-WA Angle Stop in that set up?

Caveat is that they're not the same.  The lip and the bottom track that the MFT parts fit in are the same, but the horizontal bottom rail is not.  Functionally, in this case, they're the same.  I store my MFT junk on the MW1000 extension when not in use.  You will have to remove the protection bumpers since they're molded and have the world's worst tolerance (you can't get the rail supports past them).

ekat special order
497022 - back rail support
497023 - front support

The fence I cannot find as a premade kit.  You can get the individual parts for it though.  That said, I just stick my TSO on the back rail support and call it done.

Thanks. This is very helpful.

Anyone have experience of using the FS-WA Angle Stop vs TSO type with the MW100?

Trying to identify if the FS-WA would operate up against the MFT/MW100 side clamping rail profile?  Again, not seeing a single picture/video of anyone using an accurate cross cut setup on a MW100.  I find this surprising, even with the reduced cut capacity. While the MW100 has 3 less dog holes to its depth (than the MFT) Guide Rail Supports do allow for a rail to run long out the back over separate outfeed type support.

I don't think the FS-WA Angle Stop would work.  The TSO has threaded holes that are placed the same distance as the holes on the bar in the flip rail.  It replaces that bar.  Then the top-side clip is used to secure the rail to the entire assembly.

If you have the FS-WA already, measure the fence t-slot distance.  Maybe you can use that with t-nuts.  The distance between holes on the flip rail is 60mm.

I don't have any of it yet. And unfortunately, I'm a ways from a dealer that has the floor space for me to try this stuff out. I trying to avoid buying the MW1000 and the MFT/3. My preference would be just for more cutting functionality with the MW1000. Wish it could be ordered as a MW1000/3.  I like the idea of being able to cut accurate 90's but also to have the other angle stops. Not great if Festool didn't make the FS-WA work within the system above the table clamping rails. I will take a closer look at the TSO offerings.

Look on the used market; you may be able to find one or both for less than the price of the full MFT/3 set.  Or you may find someone who got the Dashboard hinges and is looking to offload their Festool hinges and fence.

When I was tight for space, where even lugging the MW1000 was too much of a chore and bulky, I just grabbed a narrow sheet of MDF, drilled some holes for general clamping, a cutout for pistol clamps, and threw it on a sawhorse.  For cross-cutting on narrow pieces...

TSO GRS-16 PE
TSO parallel guide (desired length)
Drop-on TPG adapter
As many flag stops as makes you happy.
FS-Rapid clamp

If I were to do it again, I'd probably just make some standard height risers to fit into the dog holes, raise the board so that the rapid clamp can fit under, clear of the cut.  You avoid having to deal with the fixed position of the MFT rail supports and can pretty much cut anywhere along the full length like you would a circular saw, except with precision, and repeatability.
