Ct-22 bag blowouts make me mad.

Hm, great idea, I'm going to remember that.  [thumbs up]

I also think that the toilet paper helps to collapse the bag contents. It is time consuming though.

In an ideal world we would have bags with awfully large (internal) surface areas that collapse automatically/periodically (concertina bags if you will). The costs needn't be much that much higher and it woud far outweigh using the second CT to hoover off the filters after bag explosion.

Even an internal/electronic prodding stick would help to knock the dust off the internal surface of the bag to a degree.

You mean, sort of like a bag that collapses every time you turn the vac off? Like the new CT26 & 36?  [poke]

Its definitely a step in the right direction.

Just thinking aloud but perhaps a bag in a bag would help (both collapsing). the finer dust could pass through to the outerbag. I guess it would need to be top feed though. Hmnnnn... enough already I am late for work and a tad hungover...

we've had a similar problem with blowouts on a midi.

I think the paper strip at the card end has insufficient glue

anyway since I started stapling the "sticky paper" to the card - the problem stopped occurring

I have a customer who has had this happen twice. Can you please elaborate on your solution?

I have only had this happen when I have opened and closed the ct22 whilst the bag was partially inflated. I now squish the bag before closing.

The bags do split if I sand plaster, from about 10% full upwards. I find that sucking in scrunched up toilet paper first helps. I guess it gives the dust something else other than the bag lining to cling to.

How much do you use?

Thanks,

Tom

Hi tom

I make bog paper balls until I get bored. It isn't an exact science but it does seem to help.

At a guess I probably fill it about 20%, I should do more but I am too lazy.

I keep old plastic product tubes with the tops and bottoms cut off for cord caddies.  Thought it might help with creating a less prone situation with the prongs piercing thru the bags.  All you need is the right size "tube" a cutting knife, and some duct tape.

I'll reply, should this be a problematic solution over time.  Certainly better than cutting off the prongs, and is completely removeable for when, or if ever you want to use your CT wet.

Rounding the bottom edge with the duct tape would help not trading a piercing problem for a ripping problem.  Judge yourselves accordingly.
