CT 26 and dust problems solved

I am a new Festool owner.  I bought the CT 26E extractor and a 150/3 sander.  Upon unpacking and using it for the first time, I can tell you that I am impressed.  I couldn't find any particles of dust anywhere.  WOW!

Now the reason for this notice.  I have a Dewalt 12" miter saw that I use for general cutting and chopping.  This saw creates a lot of dust that it tries to deposit into a dust bag.  It doesn't work well at all and in fact usually gets plugged up.  Dust is everwhere around the saw and its table.  When the dust bag is removed from this miter saw, it has a dust port that doesn't fit any dust fitting that I can find.  Well last night, I said what the heck and inserted the 27mm Festool hose into (very tight fit) the miter saw dust port and hooked it up to the CT 26 extractor.  It worked incredibly well.  It got probably 95 % of the dust generated from the miter saw.

Even though the saw is not a Festool product, I want to say thank you for creating an extractor that solves a HUGE dust problem for me.

You have created a happy Festool owner/user and will without a doubt be BUYING more Festool products as the need/want develops.

Any other people have similar stories?

Hi

the dust ports are a common size and you will find the same size on lots of tools.

Get yourself the 36mm hose and keep it as short as you can and you will see an improvement in dust collection.
