It was a good review. I was glad to see the inside of it. I do not see any benefit to using a larger hoses, because it appears that the tube from the top of the cyclone to the vac connection is about 1 inch in diameter. The size of this tube determines the air flow.

It looks like it would function fine like that, I just haven't seen it confirmed yet..
