CT-SYS on the Kapex and track saw

Correct me if I am wrong, but doesn't the CT Boom Arm set come with a 5ft 50mm hose extension (along with a power cord extension), with the only difference being the 50mm being located on the extractor outlet, and not the tool end?  I assume then it would reduce to the 27mm (unless you had the larger 36mm version),  which would then connect to the tool itself?

If that is the case, I'm inclined to think there was an engineering decision made as to the benefits of a 50mm section, between the extractor and the tool (which very well may have just been related to distance, and not enhanced suction).

That's right.

Generally when using longer lengths, you get maximum performance from starting with a larger hose at the extractor and then reducing the size of hose as you move toward the tool end.

It's a little like extraction ducting design; the further away from the extractor you go, the more you're susceptible to losses introduced into the system with regard to velocity. The way you compensate for this is to reduce ducting bore size as you get closer to the tools to maintain/increase the velocity.

See the linked document that gives some examples for using the RO 150 sander with various hose combinations.
