Ct sys with dust deputy - any worries about static?

I’ve just ordered a ct sys and am hoping to use it with my dust deputy setup. It’s a regular dust deputy diy cyclone that is attached to a sealed plywood box. The ct would be used with this setup in my small shop with my ts55 and other tools. I’m a bit confused by all the static talk since I have been using a regular shop vac and dust deputy without issue. Do I need to be concerned about static discharge damaging the ct sys? If so, is there a good remedy? I’d prefer not to have to buy the festool cyclone or the more espensive ultimate dd. Thanks!

I’m no expert, but I think it’s always a risk, unless you have AS.

For me it was a big reason to buy the CT-VA. If I’m counting the fiddling, the hoses and adapters your almost there. Now it just works. Yes expensive for a piece of tubes and 2 systainers sandwiching a plexiglass ‘bucket’ [emoji848]

I have a ct36ac and a mini and I’ve use the dust deputy on both almost every time.  My electronic module on the 36 has fried twice, and that was while NOT USING the deputy and a green anti static hose.  There is definitely a design flaw keeping static of the 36’s electronic module.  I have since not fixed my out of warranty 36 and I’ve been rocking the mini and dust deputy a long time since without incident.  Had I have been using the deputy when my 36 fried twice I would have chalked this up to the cyclone being the problem. The two times it fried I was on location and didn’t want to lug the deputy around. I wonder if I had used the deputy, maybe the vac would have never fried. Food for thought.

Yep, had the same thing happen to my old CT22. Fried the logic board. An expensive repair! Now I use a little metal wire that I make sure toutches everything including the ground and it's been ok for a few years now.
