CT26 and Boom Arm - Questions

Thanks, all, for the continued responses.

[member=60957]Omar157[/member] -- Love the idea of using EMT. I recently rewired my garage using EMT, so I have the bender. The thought of using it to make a boom arm crossed my mind a while ago, but I dismissed it, thinking the 3/4" EMT wouldn't be strong enough. You haven't had any issues with it supporting the hose, plus pulling on the hose to move it?

If I go this route, I'll have to figure out how to attach the EMT to the MIDI, stabilize the whole setup, and allow the EMT/boom arm to rotate.

In your picture, it doesn't look like the boom arm rotates. Is that the case?

I also need to figure out of the Festool hose clamps (PN 492782), which are available on EKAT, would fit securely on 3/4" EMT.

Two Cowboys back to back works like a charm. To swivel I ordered a swivel adaptor. Once I get all the parts I will post the finished product but it's super rigid and it's not top heavy at all but I do have the CT48 and don't know how the smaller units will perform. I personally love it and I saved a lot of money. Give it a try, we're talking less than $20. I wouldn't spend the money on the Festool clamps. They make clamps for emt large enough for the hose and wire..
