CT36AC + CT-Cyclone

I'm getting to the skim coat phase of my renovation project.  Question -- do I gain anything by running the Planex through the CT-Cyclone (Vac is fitted with plastic bag for drywall dust sanding, with the AC setting on)?  Or will most of the fine drywall dust bypass the cyclone container and still make it all the way to the Vac.

Depends on the suction setting and also depends a little on what kind of compound you’re sanding.  You’ll definitely get some benefit and keep the heavier dust in the cyclone bin, more with lower suction power.  I’ve never bothered to do a test, but I just keep my cyclone attached no matter what I’m sucking up.  The finish muds have a finer dust IME compared to the all-purpose pre-mixed.

Marketing material shows it in use with a Planex, but can't see what you would gain. You'd just end up with two different bags filled with the same dust, if it actually did seperate it at all.

[member=13462]live4ever[/member]  Ah, that makes sense on the suction power, thx.  I'm just using the Green all-purpose joint compound for what it's worth, though on a couple of sections around the windows I have done a full replastering.
