My CTL mini is almost identical to deansocials at this stage. I'm actually too embarrassed to bring it into sites these days. Iv to order replacement parts from a dealer as Festool don't carry them for me to get them off them. That's what I was told to do anyhow

Certainly are and will feed back. If it is under S.A.I for the U.K then your covered...........i think maybe Deans has done well!!

A salesperson once told me that this ex Protool Vac is the most rugged vac in the Festool Range; particularly for site work. It is also the least expensive.

Obviously for some there would be problems such as not HEPA, no Systainer Rest and bag size. Available in Europe but alas NAINA.

...and not rated for any dust class in Europe also has no A.S hose available.

Yeah which is good because I haven't started this thread because I don't like the vac in its self and I'm sure it will last but like I said in my original post I like the vac and its good at what it does sucking up dust but its just the hose carriage really let's it down big time.

I do hope more people do chip in to help support this and hopefully festool might do something about it.  I'm 100% sure there are more FOGGERS who have broken hose carriage.

I'm going to ring my mate up see if his is broken.  He doesn't use computers much so he would be one of those people who own a broken hose carriage but would never be Hurd so festool wouldn't know and I believe there are many tradesman like that.

my ctl26 hose cariagge broke as well.. due to the feet of the tlocs.. got a free replacement tho..

Not so... I live in Puerto Rico, tropical weather, and the top on my mini also broke, not as bad as those, but it broke. All I was doing was putting the hose in its channel and one of the ears that holds the hose in the channel just broke. No banging, no pressure, it just broke. I thought it was just me, but obviously not so.

Mine broke at the same place when I put the hose through it. And mine was indoors in a well heated room. It's not just temperature. It's the plastic.

I broke an older mini the same as you guys have.

If these were cars, there might have been a recall by now.

Is this damage due to abuse by customers or is it, as appears to be suggested by this thread, a major design and manufacturing stuff up?

Hi, Iv been lurking for a couple of years- but this thread prompted me to join!

Add me to the list of broken hose garage! Just to echo what has already been said, the plastic is brittle and very delicate.

Photo attached of midi with broken garage. The control panel was replaced due to snapping on the 110v inlet- same as Deansocials. My mate also has a 110 midi which also has a broken control panel.

I spoke to festool uk about a year ago. I said it simply isn't strong enough for "sticky" 110v plug tops. They said they weren't aware of a wide spread problem - yeah right! They sent me the new part free as it was under warranty, but within a couple of months the new one had snapped again! I have since sold it and gone 240v, the new one is currently ok. The new t-loc midi top does seem to have more of a solid top. Time will tell!

My mini and midi both broke. ( snapped the 110 plug off the mini and hose carriage on the midi )got new part off the web and I super carful now. Been thinking about a ctl 26.  What to do?
