I'm sure this is not a new story.  Two months ago. I was looking for a new drill, did a lot of research and decided on a Festool C15 figuring the drill was probably my most used tool and I would pamper myself by going with a high end tool . I knew the drill would be good but it was great. During my research I discovered FOG but when I bought the drill I figured "that's it, no way I'm paying Festool prices for any other tools". Of course, then they had sanders on for 10% off and the RO 90 looked like actually being worth the money as it had the delta pad as well which I knew would come in handy. Once again, I figured "that's it"!, Thought about a vac but connected the sander to my old shop vac and it was ok even though everyone here said I should get a CT.  (Oh, I forgot, since I had no bits for the C15, I bought the contractors set since it seemed like a good deal and I really needed some of the components anyway. ). Then, when I was in Lee Valley (curse them too!) I saw the Kapex and since I do a lot of trim work and needed to do 8 inch baseboards and the bevel function was so great, I decided to buy that as well. But wait! there was a package of course so I could save over $100 by getting a CT with the Kapex - Hello Mini!

Finally, as I don't have a shop I was looking at the MTF/3 for job site and home use, and of course, there was the TS 55, mocking me when I thought of hauling around my portable table saw with all it's issues - and hey, it's another package deal with the MFT/3 so another $100 "saved"

So here I am 2 months later when I thought the drill would be my last purchase, I now have the Drill, Sander, Kapex,  TS 55, MFT/3 and the Mini, plus those hideously expensive accessories and I also have approx $5000 less in my bank account!

In defense of FOG, Some of you were decent enough to warn me as to what was coming.

But that's it!

Uh, did I mention that the 1010 router looks really slick and since I already have the MFT/3 and the rails...?

Chris   [crying]

If you do any cabinet or furniture work the Dominio is the best of the bunch- just  saying....

Probably good AA doesn't run an addiction support group like "FOG" or the help from the membership would be "Oh that reminds me of this wicked drink my friend Armon made me the other day of 7 alcohols; the planet was spinning dude! you gotta try it! then give up, oh but not before trying this rum from Barbados with a funny name; hey! It's a system!"

then of course there's the big domino coming in a few months ....best get one.

You were warned. You didn't sip the Green cool-aid, you gulped it down!

Four days till the price increase...

and what about the Boom Arm - makes life much easier

and the OF 1400 router in addition to the 1010

and you will have to have MORE sanders

and you will have to have ------more more more

guess how i know?

Just that one more new Festool and I am done!

Of course, I said that 10 systainers ago, too. [embarassed]

I recently asked my wife for a Festool present for Groundhog Day.  I guess it's possible I may have a problem too.  But I'm sure all that will be cured after I go to Indianapolis next week for the 2-day Door and Drawer Class...

Yep...and then there are the accessories -- which often trump the price of the tool...if I just had this, I could do this better...

I really do not think that there is a cure...even after you have what you think you want/need there always seems to be something else...

Nothing better than a bunch of friends that support and enable the addiction.

Seriously, talk Festool on other forums and plenty of people will try to point out that you may have a problem, or are just stupid.  But here, nothing but positive reinforcement, lol.

[eek] What and you don't have the Domino Joiner yet?  [big grin]

[eek] What, no Domino Joiner Yet?  [big grin]

I have ALL the routers which all serve their purposes very well. Started with the TS55, then got the domino after becoming quite frustrated with a hollow chisel mortiser tool. The domino DF500 is outstanding!! Then bought my first Festool router which led me to justifying buying the rest of the family, OF1400 1st then the MFK700, OF1010 and finally THE BEAST OF2200. Had to get some sanders as well so I bought the Rotex RO125, then an ETS150/3, RO90 (great little sander) and then a RS-2 for flattening stuff. Well of course with this much of an addiction it should be no surprise that a KAPEX was in the offing so I obtained one of those and the UG Stand and extensions. I made a caster setup for my shop which makes her easy to move about safely. Some other accessories I felt I "NEEDED?" were some more guide rails, the LR32 hole drilling system, guide rail accessory kit, router accessories and on and on. Oh yeah a CT36 and WCR1000 and the Plexiglass guide. No one put a gun to my head. It is just so much joy to use quality tools that really help a newbie like me to be able to create decent looking projects that I can command prices that will hopefully help me pay off some of this newly established mountain of Green Koolaid induced debt. But need I digress!!
