I was considering buying the tool organizer insert to replace the bag we take out on installs (containing common hand tools).  After reading the great posts from those of you who made your own I decided to try that too.  It was a lot of fun and I thought i would share what I came up with.

Nice job!  [thumbs up]

I strongly believe that custom is the way to go.  The insert sold by Festool was among my first Festool purchases nine years ago and it sort of worked for me for about four years until I smartened up and made my own about five years ago.

The good news is that I sold the insert that I had purchased from Festool for what I paid for it.

was going to buy one, but ya know now yas got me thinking. Why not make my own.

Tell me what did ya assemble it with? It looks like screws in the photos.

Nice insert.  And that is a cool idea for a large sanding block  [cool]

Yes one inch and 3/4 inch screws...and titebond! [smile]   I was wanting to use 1/2 inch baltic birch for the insert....but we didn't have any in stock or even scraps.
