Cutting up my Basis table (to make a TS75 fit)

I got a CMS insert for my TS75 to use with my older Basis table.

Assuming all CMS inserts would fit the basis table, I mounted the saw on the insert, put it in the table and raised the saw.

I couldn't raise it any higher than 40mm. What the #$%^! The housing of the saw hit the side profile of the table.

Somewhere in the catalog, it said: All CMS inserts fit the Basis table except the one for the TS75.(I know... I should have checked first) ???
Since a new CMS table and accessories was out of the question. A hacksaw and an angle grinder would have to do the trick

It fits. 70mm saw height.
I suppose it is a bit crude but in this case function was more important than looks.
Wonder if this voids my warranty ;D

Well done!

I wish that I had a Basis table to modify.  If you ever want to upgrade yours, maybe we can make a deal.  I will consider the "modification" that you just made to be an enhancement.

Cheers,  Frank

Frank,

I am afraid i wont be upgrading anytime soon, but if i do i'll keep that in mind ;)

What is that Festool lanyard (in the next to last photo) doing?

There are two attachments on it:

One is to hold the on/off switch in the down position (so you can switch the saw on and off using the buttons on the Basis, and so the saw does not lock when its in the 0mm position)

The other holds the riving knife in a fixed position.
