CXS drill chuck is difficult to remove or install

Purchased in 2011.  I have soaked in denatured alcohol to clean and used Kroil to lube.  Should I replace?

I had this issue with mine but realized I wasn’t pulling the outside properly trying to do it single handed. Not sure if your issue is the same but I think I needed to hold the Green towards the drill while pulling the Blue away from the drill. I wasn’t getting the full range of motion single handed but no issues with both hands.

Appreciate your responding.After speaking with Festool  I ordered a new chuck from Hartville Hardware.  I will let you know if that makes a difference.

I know that the Jacob's chuck on my T18, C12, and CXS can sometimes have a loud, sucking "pop" when I release it from the tool.  To me, this indicates that it's already a pretty tight fit to start with.

I would check the inside of the chuck interface and the fast fix mount itself to see if there's a lot of dirt buildup or any damage.

Do you have similar difficulties installing the chuck on the end of the right angle attachment?  It uses the same mount.

That's the satisfying sound of a good fit. The drill chuck and right angle attachment of mine both do it.

The right angle chuck works perfectly.  The drill was purchased in April of 2011 so I think age has done it in.  The chuck has been clumsy to install and remove for a while , however, failure to attach came at the end project I finished a few days ago. Luck was with me. According to the UPS tracker I should have the new chuck by 7 pm today and will report back how that works.  I highly recommendhttps://www.hartvillehardware.com/.  Very good customer service and a great stock of Festool.

New chuck came and it works.  Problem solved although it would not surprise me if there is a solution such as debris that I have not cleared.  On the other hand the original chuck has taken a lot of hits.  Many thanks to the responders.

Glad it worked out for you. I resorted to Teflon Dry Lube spray on mine, as it was the 90 degree chuck that I struggled to get off the Drill body. For THAT issue, it seems to greatly help.
