Cxs oil leak

Feel free to give us a call. I'm pretty sure it's been discussed here and it's not abnormal. You may notice just a small amount of oil from the chuck. It's due to environmental conditions that cause a slight change in viscosity. As long as it's not large amounts, I think you're fine.

Power tools are usually packed with grease for lubrication of moving parts. I'm sure you're aware of that part. Anyway, the grease used in most power tools will change viscosity with temperature and use. You will typically notice the oozing of oil from tools that sit because the grease isn't circulating within the tool. As long as it isn't looking like a big leak, it's probably fine. Just cycle the drill through it's speed range several times and wipe it off before putting it away. I have also been informed by service personnel from other tool companies that they over pack the grease at the factory with the expectation of the tool losing some during initial break-in.

Thanks for the replies. Clearly I am aware of the need for tools to need grease etc but given that if you are flipping from driving to drilling you need to set the chuck down. That can't always be off the workpiece if you want to be efficient and to stop it rolling around its logical to stand it on the flat end. Making the collar minutely deeper could resolve this problem.
Luckily I discovered it on a surface that isn't going to be visible.
