[welcome]

Nice to have another UK dealer on board! You're now the second, I think.

Thank You, what do you think about the price for the full kit £209.00 + vat is very competative

It is. As I've said before, if there was an eccentric/offset chuck available it would be more tempting (in fact, I'd have one already!). I'm still thinking about getting one at some point, but I may save up a bit more & go for one of the EC-Tec drills...

Jonny, the C15 is awesome.  I will probably get a cxs also though.

Welcome RCF.  Like Jonny said, great to have another UK dealer on here.

Aren't the chucks interchangeable i.e. wouldn't the eccentric/offset chuck from (say) a C12 fit? I'd agree that the price for the full kit at £245 inc VAT is competitive compared to the £186 inc VAT of the basic drill (only 60 quid more but you get another battery and the angle chuck) but compared to other 10.8v kits (here or here, say) it doesn't fare so well. They're different animals I suppose - do you want a drill/driver that does everything, or several more specialised tools using a common battery - but I do wonder who the target market is; @ RCF - are the buyers existing Festool drill owners looking for a 'cheap' extra drill/driver to augment the collection, or relative newbies perhaps picking up their first new Festool? Just curious.

Cheers, Pete

No the Offset chuck wont fit the CXS the front its different it has the torque setting at the front unlike the other Festool drills are at the rear and are electronic.
The only bits which will fits the CXS is the Centrotec and chuck.  It has its own special angle bit as the other festool drills wont fit it but festool have not made a special offset chuck for it unfortunately but when I was looking at the drill the width of the drill is very small so the centre of the drill isnt that far away from the edge but I still think festool should of made one to make it more sell able.

RCF - Is the dealer I always use for buying all my tools!  I dont know what type of tradesmen hes sold the most CXS's to im sure he will tell you but I think the CXS is mainly been targeted to people who thought festool was to expensive (so first time buyers lol) and didnt think it was worth it. So festool is hoping these people will buy the CXS then get infected and have the green blood and then buy more festool knowing how good the CXS is.

Ah, OK I missed that; I remembered from the other thread that someone (JRB?) said the regular (10mm) chuck could be substituted for the 8mm that comes with the CXS and assumed from that they'd all be  interchangeable - silly me ;)
