Hi,

Does anyone  have the D22 hose? Is the slightly smaller size worth getting for use on the sanders ? I am in the US and this hose is NAINA  ;). But I have seen it on  European and Australian sites.

I have a D22 hose. It was originally supplied with the early production of the CT Mini. It tapers down from the more typical 27 mm to 20 mm at the tool end. It is lighter and easier to store in the Mini but uses the same tool fitting as the D27. When the hose broke after 6 months or so Festool replaced it with a D27 straight through hose. Suction was noticeably improved by the increase in diameter. Although the D22 was fine for small sanders it would probably be inadequate for the RO 150 with course grits.

It may be possible to order the D22 hose as a repair part from the Festool repair department?

One clarification: The original D22 tool connector will not fit the standard D27 hose.  However, you can swage the D22 tool connector up into the D36 tool connector in order to use your D36 hose with the D27 fittings on your smaller Festool sander / jigsaw / etc.

We do have the D22 tool connector in stock.  Ask for Festool part # 456 756.

Hi,

I was just reading this again.

Mike , could you clarify- does the hose itself taper from d27 to d22 along its entire length? Or just is it just the connector tapers?

The hose itself tapers, bigger at the vac end and smaller at the tool end. There is a special plastic "nut" that the small end of the hose threads into but the rubber nozzle that fits tools is the standard.

I just need to clarify: The d22 hose: Where on the hose is the diameter 22mm? Inside or outside? (inside right?) In that case: What would the outside diameter be?

use larger hoses first the go to smaller dia closer to the snader[or??].  the smaller dia increases the air speed but reduces the total volume thru the hose.  to keep the vol high  use larger hoses first.

if you only using the 20mm hose,  then why not just get the 27.  that way you get the higher vol along with the air speed.
