I was just reading a post about Kapex and they said Dewalt had purchased Festool. Is this true?

Maybe they said they bought a DeWalt---then a Festool?

If it is...."Goodbye cruel world!!!!"  [scared]

That would be sacrilege!

Oh good That really sent a chill down my spine. I have been away from my tools while attending  grad school for a year or two and anything seems possible.

Can I get a link to what you read before this gets out of hand?

We have a reputation to uphold ya know.  [tongue]

It's a load of bunk imo.  I did not even find anything doing searches under the Festool mother company TTS... And Stanley B&D the mother of Dewalt.  It's bunk!

I'm glad I was sitting when I read this....."Did you hear that Elizabeth?.....Here comes the big one"!!!!! No link, nothing that I read online.

My wife's brother's best friend said Lowes bought Festool and is going to add it to the Kobalt tool line for wider distribution.

[unsure] [scared] [blink] [eek] [wink]

Yes it is my mistake, I read this in a post about Kepex motors burning out.
"I think festool is going the same way elu went when dewalt bought them out they get a good name and then go chep on parts to save cash. "From an Australian member, I thought the word 'elu' was an idiom of Australian English, and expletive of some sort. As it turns out that is the name of the tool company bought by DeWalt. I apologize for the confusion.

October 1st seems to have been "Dummys Day", precisely six months out of sync with April Fools Day.

[big grin]

I once spent sometime within the Education bureaucracy during the 1980s. It was a period of constant restructuring, and we used to say -
"Let's start a rumour, it might become true!"  [eek]

Daniel, that surprises me, down under Elu has a good name and well respected, at least those that I know that have them speak highly of them.
