Do You want to buy some 20 mm PVC Pipe Bench Dogs for your MFT?

i'd also take 3 lengths of whatever section fits in the priority mail tube.

thanks,

lym

I'm down for some and will review what will best fit my setup and let you know, thanks for the international networking, Eric

I am pleasantly surprised at all the response. I thought I might find 5-6 people wanting 20 feet total. I wasn't expecting this much! And, I'm glad I asked. :)

But no problem. I will see about getting enough for everybody. If you want some and haven't posted yet, there is still plenty of time. Just add your post.

I would also like three lengths of whatever unit will fit in a convenient mailing package.

This is a great idea and truly appreciated.

Thanks,

Richard

You say at the top of this thread that the 20mm pipe fits snuggly within the MFT's holes -- just what size are the holes in your table?  My newer tables have holes too large for a 20mm pipe to fit snugly, however, these would work on my older table (at least until I enlarge those holes to match the larger holes of my other tables.)

My newer tables have holes that measure closer to 20.3mm, rather than an even 20mm.  For my needs, these parts will not be of use unless they fit snug.  My only question here is, "what size holes are in your tables?"  More specifically, "what size holes are in the new MFT3s?"  I am not seeking any, "mine are right on" replies, but rather, "mine measure xx.xxmm or 0.xxx"."

My concerns over the hole sizes are to determine if my tables are out of the norm.  Since my newer tables have larger holes, I had figured that the new MFTs would also have that size holes.  I have 0.790" pins I use now and will be making my own parts at that size to work with my tables.  However, if my tables are out of the norm, then I might be better off going with something 20.0mm and replace my tops.

Thanks,
Corwin

I'm not sure but my table is over a year old so I think they are 20 mm. I will measure them tomorrow.

Thanks Corwin for the point. I would thus suggest everyone interested in getting
those pipes to measure the hole size, and confirm.

I remember a Festool employee mentionned this topic of hole size having changed,
so if this is a known topic for Festool,  we would appreciate it gives us some elaboration on
this topic

      - what exact size are the holes ? MFT/2 and MFT/3 ?
      - if any variations, how can we know ?

Note that another solution to the problem is ... to make your own top.
I already built enough of such fences to say it takes a couple of hours
to copy an existing top. Actually, I'm currently building a new kind of top
for an extension to be installed in between two MFTs located side by side.

I measured several holes of my MFT/1080 bought in September 2007.
Diameter is between 19.97 and 20.03.
No 20.3

I'll receive the demo MFT/800 I bought by end of this week.
I'll also measure the hole diameter when it arrives.

Why change the hole diameter? Particularly, why change from a standard size to a weird size?

When asked a similar question last December, I replied:

As regards my UK MFT1080, bought in the UK in 2007, the holes are 19.9mm diameter, and are spaced at 95.6mm to 96mm between centres in the x and y directions.

Sorry, but I can't help with the new MFT3 (worst luck!)

Forrest

My MFT-1080 was bought in October 2006 and the holes measure .790 inches in diameter, or 20.06 mm.

I appreciate the offer and would order 4' in whatever lenghts. How do I pay you? Thanks.

I'm planning on ordering around June 6. After it arrives, I will post here and let everyone know. You can pay me and then I will ship out to you. Payment can be PayPal (which accepts credit cards) or you can send me a check / money order.

Being from Canada the shipping will be more than $5.00. You can PM me your address and I can figure out the postage.

Thanks Fred and everyone else. We are now over 110 feet of PVC pipe. When I first looked into buying it, I was thinking 10 feet. I was told I could get a deal if I got 60 feet. I figured there was no way I would sell 60 feet!

Right now it looks like I cannot get 120 feet any cheaper than 60 feet. But I'm still looking into it. I'm not ordering until June 5 or 6th so I will continue to see what I can do.

BTW, the 10 foot order would have cost $40, so you can see why I'm interested in doing this.
