Domi dose Dovetails

I would have to say reading all the posts by Lignum over at WWF I would probably not have purchased the Domi right away. He has helped me more than he knows.

Thanks Ted. That festool thread at the other forum was good for months and months  when it was powering along. The Domino threads had massive numbers viewing it and some sensational ideas posted by alot of people. Shame it has stopped with bang and is now boring. Their was a lot of great posters contributing all the time. But alls not lost, as a lot of them now post here ;D And as for Sheila.... ive dated her but we wont go there :-[

Must dash as I do believe that a nice man from DHL is walking up the path with a Domino round holding jig for the one who thinks he is the Master but is really just someone I take for a walk each day.

Clachan a Choin ;D Id love it if you would post a pic and a little rundown on the round holding jig. I rarely use the out rigger arms but use the centering jig (thanks Anthony ;D ) all the time. Do you think the round holding jig is worth it or a bit of a gimmik?

Try this--go to Google and type "how to speak strine" into the box.  Should get you some useful hits.

Before I traveled to Sydney (only once, unfortunately), a buddy of mine loaned me a book by the same title.  I don't think it's in print any more, but it was hilarious.

Regards,

John

John,

The book's title is actually "Let stalk strine", and its subtitle is "Nose tone unturned". It is still obtainable from Amazon.

I would if I could but I can't .......as it's gone back. For the first time in my Festoolian life I purchased with my eyes covered in a black and green mist. It was as useful as a chocolate fireguard. ;D

I am sure for those that make lots of stair rails etc it would be a boon but I thought it would help me solve a particular problem and it didn't. In the end a 10p bit of MDF did the trick.

I had that feeling as well. Glad you pointed that out for all of us. Onyu Pat;D

The only problem is that if we all start talking like you guys, we will lose our diversity here on the board -- kind of an international hangout for woodworkers with too much money, a la star bars scene.  Then, too, being able to completely understand you would take some of the mystery out of things -- Albert would have to disclose his real name, for example -- there'd be nothing left to hide, if you get my drift.  And then three, we'd only be beginning with strine.  We'd have to learn Welsh and who-knows-what else.

::) ::) :o

Dave, dont feel to bad, I`m a Victorian and i still carnt understand South Australians or  Bannana benders (Queenslanders) They are a very strange lot :-\

Dave, I was reading the Domino threads over at Woodworkers Forum and it took me like 5 days to get them all read up and then the next thing you know I called my wife "Shelia", my eye is still black...

"We'd have to learn Welsh and who-knows-what else"

It took me years. The lingo was easy ........it was dodging the stream of saliva that was hard. You try saying

" llanfairpwllgwyngyllgogerychwyrndrobwllllantysiliogogogoch", without spraying someone. ;D
