My potential Domino work load Consists of
70% Cabinets/interior trim
5% Brackets
5% Exterior Storm/Screen Doors
5% Gates and Out Door Structures
5% Pictures Frames and Misc Woodworking
So a little bit about me. Im 30 years old. Im a carpenter in my familys business. We do everything from new construction, remodels and additions. So being a small company I do everything from framing, demo, custom cabinets, interior tirm and everthing else with home construction. We do a lot of high end work and get to work on a lot of cool projects and materials. I do a lot of side work doing cabinets and custom woodworking. I got into Festool products in the last year and have been very pleased. I currently own a sys-light, t15 set, ro150, and a ct midi.
So the magority of my work using the domino would be cabinets and interior trim I feel like the df500 would be the best for that application. But I do have a need for a larger tenons. I average about 1-2 storm/screen doors a year. Normal I take my Porter Cable Lock Mortiser and make mortises in the rail and cope and make a tenon. Although this works Its very time consuming. And Im sorry about beating the horse, I'm just not sure what jointer will suit my needs. Thats why I include a little about myself. I thought I was going to get the df500 but, I discovered the Seneca adaptor And thought with this adapter I could get both the df500 and the df700 in one model. Im not worried about the extra weight, Im 6'5 and 250 So I can handle the weight. My concern is that if I get the dft700 with the senca adapter and df500 tenon systainer, that the 700 will be big and akward for cabinet work and trim. I dont think that theres a bad choice either way. I havrnt heard one bad thing about either one. I wish I could afford both, but for now I can only get one. Thanks for the help, I really appreciate it!!!!
