Domino Connectors - Corner vs Butt Joint

I am looking to use Domino connectors with my DF 700 for a knock-down project and I’m not sure if I need the full connector set or just the corner connectors.

It seems like in all cases where you would use the Butt Joint connectors, the Corner connectors would also work (it seems like they’re essentially the same except for the second access hole)?

If I have the space to use a Butt Joint connector in the joinery, is there any disadvantage to using a Corner connector in terms of strength or “pulling power”?

You could use a corner set wherever you use a butt joint set, but if you look at how they're fitted, the butt joint connectors are very significantly stronger than corner joint connectors as they're fitted into a slot at a right angle to the rod at both ends, whereas the corner connectors are held in place simply by virtue of the fins that spread out into the timber in one end.

You could safely use butt joint connectors to join a benchtop, but I wouldn't trust the same top using corner connectors anywhere near as much.
