Domino drawer construction the fast and easy way

I posted this on Member Projects a few weeks ago and now realize this is the more appropriate place. I have been making my drawers this way for five years and have had no failures. The amount of stress during a pulling of a drawer is quite small. Anyway, I can cut 8 Domino holes in less than three minutes and not need to mark any part. Haven't seen people using the Domino this way BF and heck as much as this thing costs I want to use it as much as possible. Remember if you don't agree with the Dominos facing front to back, the process is the same for left to right. Try making the jig it is only made from wood scraps so it's little or no investment $$. Quick-Precise and safe.

Thanks for the video. This weekend I am making some drawers and will try this. What do you do about he drawer bottoms?  Cut a slot and insert them in before final assembly?

For the bottom, I like to make a grove and cut short the back. Glue up the drawer, slide in the bottom, square the drawer and finally clamp it. Once the glue is set add a few screws under the bottom at the back.

I cut the bottom drawer groove prior to the drawer cutting and construction. I make several lengths and then cut the drawer pices to size.

If speed is the objective, here is another way to make quick drawers with false fronts: use a dovetail alignment board to clamp the two mating pieces at right angle flush in position and make just one plunge to make through mortises on both boards at the same time.

If the stock is thick and only the DF500 in available, remove the face board and make another plunge without changing any setting on the endgrain boards to deepen the mortises. Of course, in that case, you need to make your long dominoes or use ones intended for the XL.  (The fence seen in the image was added after the glue-up. The L-part underneath was the dovetail alignment board. All the mitres were cut with the Kapex...dead-on as always.)
