Domino Joint Flushness

Hmm - I'll have to check my fence.  I'll search for the old thread to see what I need to do (unless someone feels like summarizing the "fix" here...  ;) ).  Thx!

There is a little allen screw that adjusts the catch on the scale of the machine.  It is at the top of the degree scale.  The allen looks like it doesn't adjust anything but it will allow you to adjust a couple of degrees.  My domino was off by a few degrees and changing this has made it perfect.

hope this helps

Here's the pic finally. Sorry it took so long. In this pic I did it exaggerated so you could see what I mean.

OK, I don't own a Domino, but do use a plate joiner quite a bit and have taught countless teenagers how to use it.

The single biggest problem we have is machining the wood on a CLEAN, flat surface.  At first we used the table saw table and fence to work with but ended up getting in other students way.  So I built a work table out of an old piece of melamine and used a 2 x 4 as a fence.  It worked great for addressing the problem you mentioned, but I couldn't get the kids to keep it clean!  ARRRRRGH!

Dust under the boards or tool cause the cut to go out of line and there you are.
