Is there a way to remove the locating pins on an older Domino?  I never use them and for me, they just get in the way. Are they removable?

If you have a Domino with pins, you could probably sell it, buy a new Domino with the paddles, and have money left over for accessories  8)

Really?  How’s that?

I don't know that I'd sell the entire domino unit, but you can buy the fence as a separate item.  Selling the whole unit and re-buying would probably be cheaper, though, unless you can find someone who wants to trade fences with you.

There are some who strongly prefer the pinned fence over the flappy fence, so there's a market out there.  Some use the pins as a locating guide, others use them to trap the material and mortise on an angle.

I posted a "WTB (want to buy)" in the Classifieds a while back and found a flappy fence for sale that I put in the systainer with my pinned fence model so that I have both options as the need arises.

Where can I find the flappy fence replacement?

This is what I'd do as there is no easy way to remove the pins. The fence unit was available on EKAT so just call Festool to get the part number. I have a spare paddle fence that way (but the original pins are on my Domino).

What squall_line suggested is good: maybe you'll find someone who wants to send you a paddle fence in exchange for the pin fence saving the whole EKAT trouble

Because they have been discontinued for years, and there's definitely a market for them that values them far more than they would have been worth (if they were still available)

Mine is the paddle type, and I prefer the pin fence which has been discontinued allegedly due to patent infringement issues.

However I wouldn't consider swapping mine with someone's old pin fence unless I.could try the fence on my machine. Some early fences are said to be subject to the problem of fence drifts.
