I didn’t want to muddy the Domino debate on the other post,so here is my question.

The Boss(Wife) wants a pantry and a pantry door.
I figured I would just build the door.
It’s a 2’ by 6’8” with a glass insert.

I have a Domino 500 and haven’t had the need for a 700.

My question is : can I get a good connection with the smaller dominos? My thought is to use more of them.
Or should I make some longer Domino’s and use a mortise bit after the Domino machine makes the initial mortise ?

But back to the question. I think for interior doors smaller dominos and more of them will be just fine.

For the glass insert, consider sticking to a single pane of thinner tempered glass to keep the weight of the door down.

Or split the glass panel in two and add a center rail in order to increase the number of joints 50% for the added strength.

DF500 seems really to small to me for a door. Get the chisels out and make mortise and tenons.

Unfortunately a DF-700 is off the table,I haven’t had the work to pencil it out. I surely would get one if I had the work.

As far as the glass,it will be just the top 3rd do the door and will be 1/8” tempered glass held in with a trim liege on the inside of the door.

I need maybe a dozen mortises, and am leaning on the Domino for placement and a mortise bit. I can make the dominos .

What’s the thinking, is a 10mm Domino big enough?

I’m thinking about a staggered Domino placement .

For what?

What is the thickness of the rail/stile stock? That usually determines the size of Domino.

Do you have to match an existing cabinet style? If so what are the dimensions you’ll be using for the above stock?

If you don’t have to match something else you can increase the height of the rails and stack Dominoes.
For a tall door it’s not unheard of to have four rails. The more the stronger.

On the other hand, since most of the door is not glass there is the opportunity to use the insert panel as  a sheer panel, if it can be made of veneered ply or MDF and be secured glued in place.

10mm domino isn't 'deep' enough.  It's the bending moment that the tenon glue area needs to work against.  A short tenon amplifies that shear force. Either drill press or hand router a deep mortise.  Floating tenon or hand cut doesn't matter as much.

I'm assuming paint grade. I'd assemble the door with biggest domino's you can then drill (1) or (2) 3/8" diameter holes at each rail and stile joint and drive in wood dowels.
