I just realized that the edging plate (486058) is spec-ed for the OF1400 as well as the OF1010. Has anyone used it to do horizontal routing with the OF1400, and if so, do they recommend it, or does it make more sense with the OF1010. It just seems like it might be a bit heavy with the 1400.
I'm looking for a better option for trim routing, mostly for getting hardwood caps flush to veneered ply. I have a Ridgid and a Craftsman trim router, both of which work well enough, though there's usually a lot of clean-up to do with the sander to get rid of scalloping where the router has rocked while running along the edge. Thus my interest in the edging plate.
I'm also curious about the MFK for this application, though since I don't do much veneering, I'm not sure I would get the full range of use from this machine to justify the purchase.
