Education and Classes

I also tried to sign up for Doors and Drawers but the class was full already.

So, I tried for my second choice, Cabinet Construction, and I manged to register for that.  I look forward to Indianapolis in mid-April.

The new training site is coming along very nicely, looks great!

Willy, Red, I'll see you guys out there.  I'll be coming in around noon on the 30th, if anyone is up for lunch and dinner let me know.

Corey, sorry you didn't make it in time, guess I'll have to bust someone else's chops. [tongue]

Frank, too bad you missed the door and drawer class, it would have been nice to get to meet you.  The cabinet class is a good one, I'm sure you're going to have a great time.

I'll be arriving late afternoon at the Fairfield.  I'm looking forward to meeting you both.  With any luck, I'll be there around 5:30 and would love to do dinner with you guys (provided that I-70 doesn't get shut down due to an accident like the last time I made the run).

[smile]

The major outstanding improvement was the fact that you found out right away if you were going to the class. That is priceless.

Well, I'm holding out for a cancellation and talking with the prosecuting attorney in that case redbird is supposed to be on jury duty for - seeing if I can put in a good word for his character and citizenship and how it would be an injustice to society if his moral compass weren't put to good use as a juror.  [wink]

Sad thing is my wife said to just submit the application and take the $150 hit if I had to cancel due to what I thought was going to be a schedule conflict (turned out not to be so).

Watching out for doors & drawers in Vegas or again in Indy yet this spring - hopefully a Thursday/Friday course as I can make that happen.

Shane,

The new system is very nice. Great work.

I got signed up for the Door & drawer class.
I looking forward to seeing you again Brice.
I am staying at the Fairfield & I hope to get into town around noon.

Very good Chris, see you then.  Okay we've got four of the six identified, who's left??

Not me.  But I wish I could have.

Have a great time and post afterwards.  There seems to be a vortex swallowing up the info from the classes lately.

Tom,

If you're driving down on the 39th, bring along your new calendar and some happy pills for the ride.  [big grin] [poke]

It's a metric conversion.

Hello Doors and Drawer Fans!

While the up-coming D&D class in Lebanon is fixing up a dinner the night before, I think it would be swell to do so in Henderson!

This morning I was so pleased to see the announcement of the 26 and 27 May D&D class in Henderson. Immediately I filled in the form of the new Sing-Up and Notification site. As soon as I hit the send button it gave me a confirmation. A few minutes later when I logged onto my e-mail I already had the message from Steve Bace welcoming me to D&D.

As always when I am in Henderson or Las Vegas I will be staying at The Sunset Station, the hotel partner and the place where we meet Steve for the ride to class.  I will be driving to Henderson from Burbank early on Wednesday 25 May so I expect to be at the hotel by noonish. Although I have other business meetings Wednesday afternoon, I think it would be marvelous to have dinner with some or all of the class.

On my last several trips to the Sunset Station they have had a room ready long before official check-in, I never presume. Probably the best way to coordinate dinner is to use cell phones. Anyone wanting my number or e-mail is most welcome to send me a FOG PM.

By the way, my goal once I refresh my drawer building (for me it has been 45 years) I expect to add a drawer department to my Burbank shop. Currently we make all of our doors and drawer fronts. Consequently I am accepting applications from experienced drawer makers. Just send me a PM if interested.

I got an e-mail announcing the class after I got the e-mail confirming I signed up.

Plus I did not see a posting in this section of the forum about the class.  Will they no longer be announced on the forum?

The new sign up was quick and easy.

Hi GP,

Actually, I kept checking the Class Schedule function on the sign-up site.

I assume you are participating in the Henderson Doors and Drawers in May?

Trust me, FOG Fans, every class is better when Greg P is there. We can also be sure there will be photos. Of course we know that without photos it never happened.

I'm in!  Doors & Drawers in Henderson May 26th & May 27th.

Got the email notification and quickly scurried to the site to sign up immediately... looks like registration is still open a this time.

Looking forward to meeting you ccarrolladams and GPowers if it is Doors & Drawers you signed up for.  I probably won't get in until late Wednesday evening or maybe even early Thursday morning as I must fly out after work Wednesday... although, I'll be gaining 3 hours of time flying from Michigan to Vegas so we'll see what kind of flight schedule I can work out.

I just booked the Intro To Class for next Thursday and Friday.  First time heading out there, so I was wondering if anyone can give me some guidance?  I assume it's best to arrive to Indy the day before, but what about going back home, best to leave Saturday or Friday night??  As for hotels, just call the host hotel and tell them I'm with Festool for a group rate or something??

Looking forward to a good learning experience and thanks for any input!

Gary, Festool's Mnnie Gleb can arrange your stay at the preferred place, the Fairfield inn.  Let her setup your reservation because Festool gets a small discount.  I like the Fairfield, it's reasonably priced and not too far from Festool headquarters.  Most people stay there too so you get a chance to hang out with the guys while not in class.  I drive in the day before and leave the morning after but I've got a six hour drive.  I'm sure Minnie will be in contact with soon.

WOW that was fast! the Door and drawers class in las Vegas is already FULL. It was not even open a full day just a few hours. You got to act fast [scared]
