ETS EC 150 - got to get one!

I've just finished a Corian fabrication course here in the UK (along with a couple of other FOG members) and whilst the course was excellent, there was one major problem.

I've been using one of the new ETC EC 150/3 sanders, and I've fallen in love with it!!! I really need to get one now, my old ETS just isn't good enough anymore! Definitely need to trade her in for a younger model!

Anyone wanna buy a kidney? [tongue]

I really want one as well, have got 2 big worktops to sand down and refinish next week and another few even bigger worktops to do the week after that. I have to do them in situ so the better dust collection would have been perfect for me, only reason i haven't bought one yet is cause all my tools are 110v and the sander only comes in 240v. Anyone know if festool are going to release a 110v version??

I've got one and what a little beauty it is. Love instant pad stop when you switch machine off. I is lightweight and easy to use when sanding edges ( pad orientated verticaly). I like little fail safe mode. when you can program it not to run without a hose attached.

I Still got my old type ETS 150/3 EQ, Might sell, not sure yet.

TBH I doubt it, though I have no 'real' info to back that up. Just that:

A. When new products have been released in the past, if there's a 110V version it usually comes out at the same time;
B. It's aimed primarily at the automotive industry, where there's no requirement for a 110V version;
C. The UK 110V market is shrinking (as the H&S Nazis slowly (VERY slowly [tongue]) realise that 230V with an RCD is perfectly safe to use) and probably isn't worth Festool bothering with.

And, my usual disclaimer - I might be wrong, and have been on many occasions... [unsure]

Thanks for the reply guys. I agree with all that you say and my main reason for wanting the 110v version is that all my gear is 110v and that I could plug it into my ct. Tho 110v does piss me off, I'm certain my kapex and precisio would have more power if they were 230v even tho I have read many times that it would not make a difference.

Looks like my first 230v Festool purchase is on its way shortly, possibly accompanied with another ct to help it settle into new surroundings  [scratch chin]

I would trade my Mirka Deros for the new Festool ETC EC 150. Any takers?

I really like the way the new one handles. Great little machine!
