Folks I am new to this forum and but did do a search just did not see an answer.  I am considering a Felder KF700 and FB510 ... I am not in a real rush and wanted some opinions on woodwokingshow pricing.  I have never even been to one of the big events but wanted to see if anyone had an opinion if the best pricing on these would be at those shows or if I am just better off ordering around Christmas time ?

I have the FB510.  Felder has regular "sales" at the usual holiday times and woodworking shows during the year.  I don't know when or how to get the best deal.

Personally, I hate the way they price these machines.  They can manipulate the price in many different ways.  Always ask for something off of shipping cost or accessories.

I had previously purchased a Hammer A3 31 so they gave me a 2% good customer discount in addition to the sale price.  Whoopee!

Their pricing structure never leaves me with confidence that I got a good deal.

The Christmas sale is decent. Might do a hair better if you visit their booth at IWF next August and place an order on the show floor. I understand you are not in a hurry, but the KF700 is usually built to order. If you wait until IWF, you won't take delivery until this time next year at the earliest.

FYI, you might want to join the Yahoo Felder Owners Group (FOG) for help with specifying your machine. The number of options is staggering. Some things are a must have (and must be added at build time), while others are best left to the aftermarket. Mistakes can be costly.

Thanks will give that a try. There are a huge number of options and the pricing is something else.  I am struggling with the options and do not see which options are needed to support or attach others. That forum may well be helpful thanks.

Felder pricing is rather insane, not because they are trying to screw you, but because of the software they use to configure machines. I've been to the Delaware showroom a couple times to try their stuff out and place orders. It's an old DOS like terminal where you click off the options you want, and a price, along with associated discounts comes out. Adding or removing a seemingly small option could make the price jump or drop somewhat randomly. The Austrian division has certain option packages that make you eligible for discounts from the factory, while the US side has additional discounts depending upon the total order. Then there are holiday or show promotions layered in. Unlike Festool, which just raises their prices every year despite currency movements, Felder USA will raise and lower prices throughout the year to reflect currency moves. Without knowing exactly what you want, and when you plan to order, it's hard to get an estimate as to what it will cost. Be patient, and work through the process with your sales rep. Mine were generally good people to work with and didn't seem to be playing tricks. Blame Felder in Austria for the crappy software given to the US importers.

First piece of advice, buy the 3200mm slider if you have the space.

Thanks - will certainly keep chipping away - I think they. Had the 3200 in the showroom.  It is large

I was waiting 2yrs for the 710 BS to go on sale, never happened but they did discount the 510. They have a few sales a year, random events like store opening, anniversaries, etc..but I see more discounts on the Hammer line for sliders. I was able to get a Felder saw/shaper at a decent price, as it was coming in from another order that was unfulfilled.

I love a good deal, so if you share that notion, check out minimax, they're having a 30% off sale on a lot of their single phase stuff...I think a new paint scheme is coming out so its clearance time.

I have 3 Felder machines in my shop, a 610 bandsaw, a k 700 z shaper and a k 700 s table saw with a 2800 table.  The bandsaw and the shaper were in stock in stock items and I did not have a long wait to get the machines, with reasonable equipment on them.  The table saw I ordered in May and it came in late September, with the options that I wanted.  The table saw replaced a hammer k3 winner with a 79-in slider.  The new saw is so smooth and runs great.  I have not run the minimal equipment, but was looking at a jointer/ planer and Felder beat the price on a similar mini max tool

Wow - which jointer planer were you looking at. I also looked at the 941 but am hesitating at the price. Clearly nice but quite a bit
