Festool BHC motor jammed

Hi Guys..

Using my SDS at work today and without warning it jammed solid, if i pull the trigger it just beeps at me.

I opened it up when i got home and it looks like the black fan/wheel on the end of the motor has moved out a little and jammed against the plastic body.

Has anyone seen this before? is it worth fixing as its out of warranty.

Nope, not seen this before. Looks like a little design flaw, the fan wandering off by itself, you'd think something like that is fixed sturdily in place. Probably the combination of rotation + hammering that proved too much.

Whether it is worth fixing is up to you, do you want to use your BHC again.

I'd contact Festool about this.

Also haven't seen or heard of this before.

Worth fixing? Probably. The BHC is a good tool and from the available pictures it seems it's rather a minor fix - if it's really just the fan.

So yeah, contact Festool.
