The tables were made by festool just for the road show. It toured the UK too so I got to see those tables close up. We didn't get shown the new tools though.

They're not just made for the roadshow, but custom made by Festool to support their dealer network. All bigger dealers over here have one in their store for their demonstation corner. It's an MFT with a frame made out of some 80/20 type profile, placed on casters, with sysport slides inside. Not long ago, a local dealer here sold some of these tables, used, to the public for €2500 a piece.

Sorry Alex but I don't know of any UK dealers with such tables so as far as I knew it was something they had knocked up for the roadshow lorry.

Ah - more pictures of the new stuff.

Sadly I think it tells me that I am out of luck. I was hoping for a Festool version of Protool's "PDP Corded Percussion Drill/Driver" Looking at the photo above - it is the version without the Hammer/Percussion function.  Looks like i'll end up with the Protool.

Yes the ProTool versions are almost identical to each other.  The difference being the size of the metal housing at the drive shaft.  One is larger and holds the Hammer/Percussion switch.

You can see the difference between the two photos. The Protool I posted has the larger housing and the switch.

I'm really looking forward to the customer launch of this equipment.  Let's just say, I'll be sppoiling myself on my birthday end of september after a lot of hard work, etc. Hey, what the heck. So much has been described to me about the Quadrill, can't wait to own one for the heavier jobs.

Cheers Seth, much appreciated. It's nice to belong to a group where a manufacturer makes you feel like part of the family.  Just been out to do some work for family with the CXS, etc and glad to be back at my puter on here lol. I'm counting down the days to the official news but I know a few things already. it's more a case of hands on the kit before buying. that's what matters for me when buying gear. I don't trust online reviews, I got caught out by that a few times and regretted equipment purchases before moving to festool.

Trouble is, all the official info (what little there is!) says 'more info' in September, not necessarily 'released' in September. I think it's more likely that they will release them in stages, rather than all at once - I would think that releasing 10+ new tools in one go would severely strain both the dealers and the supply network.

But that's just my opinion, I don't know anything official.

ah, ok. my dealer's over at festool this coming week and he assures me he'll help me out. after all I've traded with him for a number of years and kept his till hot wish cash on the festool side. will be glad  to get my hands on  the kit I'm after, maybe get a bit more  into some of the other gear. I just hope one of the products is the drill stand for use with the quaddrill rig.

cheers and take care.

It's gotta be more expensive for them to make 2 separate chargers instead of one universal charger! Do the 15v and 18v battery's  use the same charger?
