I am thinking of ordering a Festool Duradrive Collated screw gun DWC 184500
It is not available here in the United States so I would have to order it from Europe.
However I am concerned I will not be able to get compatible collated screws easily and at reasonable cost here in the U.S.

Are the collated screws proprietary for this?

Does anyone know if I will be able to easily get compatible collated screws in the United States?

Are other manufacturers collated screws compatible with this?

From the photos I've seen online, this looks like the ubiquitous flexible collation we've had here in North America for several years. Of course, it's hard to know for sure just from the photos, but to me that's what it looks like.

A very good looking tool, I'd be happy to see Festool bring this tool to NA! If you do buy it, I'm curious to hear your thoughts

For what little I know of this screw gun I am under the impression the Senco collated screw will work with it.
Again I have only seen this tool very briefly.

I have one and it takes the standard collated screws including the senco mentioned. It is a terrific machine and very reliable compared with the Mikita mine replaced. Very few misfires, batteries last for more than 1000 screws. Not brand specific when it comes to screws as the DWC will use the cheapest nasty screws I can find with the same aplomb as expensive name brands.

I've got a corded and a cordless version ... as said, they not to picky on collated screws. This isn't the machine of choice for decking - go Senco for that!

Yeah, they will work in it.  Pretty heavy for a collated screw gun though, plus no intentions of having an extension pole for it.
