Hello all

Which is the best dust collection bag to use for fine plaster dust?

I thought I'd read somewhere that the old paper bags were the best for fine dust.

Appreciate any help with this

Not in my experience. Fine plaster dust is terrible for any bag, but at least the modern cloth bags collapse on themselves so you have some movement there to free some pores. The paper bags are totally static and clog in seconds.

Thanks for quick reply Alex, I'd got it very wrong then......

Anytime I’m doing drywall and don’t have my 36AC I just count on changing the bags when they are 1/3 full. May seem like a waste but trying to suck drywall dust through a clogged bag is an even bigger waste of my time.

And, as has happened to me in the past before I stopped using them, the paper bags can 'explode' open in the DE.  [eek]

That may be due to wood chips though, rather than plaster dust.
