Festool CXS - a new kid in town

I have the c12 the old t15.6 and the even older cdd and can't say I ever had much trouble with the chucks, but for those that do, try getting a Prottool chuck - it has that click ratchet effect as you tighten it and is compatible with the fast fix.

Yes i know you can but why should i festool should sell them with the rachet chucks no need for rubbish chucks. The drills aint cheap let alone adding another 60quid for a chuck onto

That's a fair criticism, but I gave up wondering why companies did strange things when I used to work for one. ;)
I just read Steve Jobs advice to the boss of Nike back in April 'get rid of all the crappy stuff' or words to that effect.  Maybe if everyone who had problems with their chucks sent them in under warranty Festool would get the message - but again there's no reason why you should have to do that with an expensive tool.  I've got to send my Carvex back but haven't got round to it.  My big SRH VAC never worked properly from new, but rather than sending it in (I don't think it's even made by Festool) I just disconnected the faulty bits inside and now it works (without the automatic filter cleaning tho') I get the feeling that even the best companies 'drop the ball' sometimes. I did once see an alternative chuck available from Festool but don't remember much about it
Time I got some shut eye!

In my opinion small screwdrivers / drills are amazing.
There are so many screw driving and fine small drilling I do that the "standard" cordless drills are just an overkill for, heavy, and end up being less precise and fun to work with due to weight and size.
My ultimate favorite so far is the Metabo latest Powergrip with the 7.2 Li batteries. It comes in a set with a drill chuck, angle driver, and some bits in a quality case. I had the previous  Powermaxx that is great as well.

Small drills have their own place and are not to be compared with the larger drills. These are the kind of tools that you think you don't need, but once it is in your arsenal, you wonder how you lived without it.

I will definitely get this small Festool as soon as it is available here in the US.
