Got it to work.

If that's real, wow. Festool possibly ditching the 10.8/12V line, double wow.

And in the background a XL Systainer with 18V reciprocating saw. Triple wow.

Again, if real.

Kind regards,
Oliver

Skeptical as well. But the German language on the Systainer, and what looks to be a window into a production area ... Pretty sophisticated if really faked.

Pretty exciting, either way.  [big grin]

Kind regards,
Oliver

Dunno what's up with the picture not being embedded properly. Was from a post from Poland on the FOG's FB group, shown together with an upgraded version of the TS 60 which included a second (!) motor in the front of its baseplate to drive a reverse scoring blade ahead of the main blade. Pretty insane stuff and would certainly give Festool an edge over Mafell and Makita with their scoring functions, absolute gamechanger for anyone using e.g. melanine particle board and the first thing that impressed me in a while

Picture is a .webp format, not .jpg. So I got that.

Exciting news, didn't know the FOG had a Facebook-Group. :)

Scoring blade on TS 60, quadruple wow!

Kind regards,
Oliver

Started a new thread for the TSV 60 with pics in the appropriate forum section. Looks like absolute overkill German engineering. Love it

I was only able to view the downloaded image from my phone so I converted the .webp file to JPG in case anyone else is having trouble viewing the image:

The CXS18 looks more like a C18 than a CXS to me.

I agree inasmuch as it appears to have the same FastFix connection on the front, and it's definitely more bulky than the current CXS.  Same with the TXS 18, which looks almost as big as the TID 18.

I appreciate that the trigger is fully at the top of the handle against the motor, at least.  That's one thing that keeps me from being able to comfortably use my C18 or C12 with the same grip that I use on the CXS.

Someone should start a new rumor post about that RSC 18 recip saw...

Doesn't seem so XS to me  [unsure]

No likey  [huh]
Same. One of the main selling points of the CXS is the compact size and weight. I'm sure there's a market for 18v versions, but I'd still love to see an upgraded 10.8v CXS. Make it more powerful, a bit shorter front to back, brushless motor and I'd buy one at launch.

I don't think it needs any more power and I'm fine with the battery life as-is. I wouldn't be against the housing being a bit shorter, but not at the expense of getting wider. Change for the sake of change, while not making an improvement, an actual improvement of something needed, is not helpful.
The form-factor is exactly what is perfect for me and many others who use them.
Yes there is a need for a more powerful unit, so buy one of those too. The C or T XS is not an all in one, please don't ruin it by trying to make it so.

The thing is, with a bit more power, it very much could be nearly an all in one. My milwaukee M12 installation driver is my go to driver for probably 95% of what I do. It recently handled 1/4"x4" spax powerlags used for wall mounting some work tables. This was into studs, no predrilling. I'm not against the need for a bigger, more powerful drill; those are also a necessity, but if a 2lb multi-head driver can accomplish most of what's necessary, why not? I'm about to buy the dewalt to try out. I know for sure the handle will be way more comfortable to use.

My whole point being that, as great as the cxs still is, it could greatly benefit from an update. Like I said, more power, shorter, maybe update the batteries to be bt compatible, etc.

So lets see where this train goes. I'm excited, excited, excited!

What if that train is going to a destination I don't want to go to?

And what if service to a well served served destination is being discontinued ?

Should I (and other passengers) wait to complain until after this has all happened  -or- voice my displeasure now in hopes of changing the mind of the train company before it's too late ?

These new CXS/TXS 18's are absolutely of interest to many.

I just got rid of my 2,6 variant TXS and CXS today, and will get rid of my T18 and C18 as soon as the TXS/CXS 18 are available to replace them.

Whether or not Festool scrub the older TXS/CXS models,  these new ones are EXACTLY what I've been hoping for.  I can finally get down to a single battery format, in a light and powerful C and T handled combo.

Great news, very exciting.

Since you've quoted me:

I honestly and wholeheartedly couldn't care less what you (or others) decide to do.

Kind regards,

Is the 3.1 amp hour battery new that is on that tsx? Would definitely help a little on the size and weight of the drill. If you look at it compared to the current battery next to it. I do love the current CXS for its light weight easily hanging on my pocket.

It's always been around! Absolute recommendation, I run all my drills with them, makes a HUGE difference in handling and e.g. the BHC is still able to do several hundred holes into concrete with that tiny battery.
I never understood why anyone would run a 5 or even 6Ah battery on their drill
