Hello,

New to posting so go easy on me!

I have a 110v Festool Midi and a few Festool corded tools.

I am in the market for a new sander and thinking of going for a Festool EC 125 or 150 but can't find any for sale in 110v. Do they exist?

Separate question.... Could you use a 110v Festool cable plugged into the Midi and plug the other end into a '240v' tool?

Thanks in advance!

Tom are you in the US?  If so then the answer is yes.

What?

If the tool doesn't like the 110V diet it won't run properly. The Plug-It connectors are also different between 110V and 240V, so no.

Sorry I should have said!

No I am in the UK.

In a world-wide forum like this, your country location can be quite important, though from the question alone, I assumed it. An American wouldn't ask such a thing. Here they are all 110v, so it would never be an issue. It's the UK that has both and most of the rest of the world is 240v.

Second question. I am not aware of anything that works with "both" voltages at the same time.
I would think that it would "theoretically" be possible to have a 240v extractor with an internal transformer to drop the output to 110v, but it would add complexity/cost for a minimal use situation.
Just because you can, doesn't mean you should...  [big grin]
