Hello guys,  I was wondering if anyone has any of the Festool Eseential books.
Are they good books?  Worth getting?  Best place to buy?

I have the domino coming my way from the recon. sale. So I'm thinking about getting the Festool Essentials for the Domino.  I know that I have access to a lot of knowledge on here, but a book in the shop could be handy. Since I don't have a PC in the shop.

Or !  do I need to just man up and try to figure out the domino on my own?

Thanks for any help guys!

Eric

the only books i know of are the suplimerntry manuals by jerry work and rick krisofersen (sorry spelling wrong [embarassed])

I've heard the domino book is rubbish.

But Rick Christopherson's manual is well worth downloading. You can find a link on the Festool website's support page.

Eric, try doing a search here, we've talked about these books before, they weren't well received.

I got the book when I purchased my Domino a couple of years ago (Uncle Bob was throwing it in for free).  Rick's supplemental manual is significantly better.  The only thing I learned from the essentials book was how to install my boom arm on my CT.  Othere than that, it collects dust in my garage.

I was disappointed in the book. The quality of the photos is nice, and the text is succinct, but they pretty much just repeat the obvious and stuff you already know by common sense. The best way to learn is to take a class, if you can get it on, or to have an experienced Festooler demo it for you.

Thanks guys.  Once Rick Christopherson's name was mentioned something clicked in my head.  I knew someone had posted his manual before,  I just couldn't remember his  name.  Once again the power of the FOG comes thru!

I downloaded Rick's manual and it is sharp!  Nice details and easy to read.  So this is going to help me out a lot, as will the FOG members.

And one would think that for the price of the festool essential books ( around $38) it would be a good book.  Just like the old saying goes
"you can't judge a book by its cover".

Thanks again.
Eric
