Can anyone tell me where I can buy IN THE UK the guide bush adapter part No 469625 for my OF 1010.

Thanks

Matthew

Hi Matthew

You can order from Axminster in the UK.
I got mine and a set of UJK bushes in various sizes which have been great.
BTW if you get them and feel they are prone to loosen a bit whilst routing just add some plumbers tape to the thread.
Best regards
Scott

Thanks for your replies guys, ordered one from Powertool supplies last Friday and it arrived today. Now just need the UJK Bushes to be in stock with Axminster and I will be good to go.

Can someone using small words describe what that does? Looks like a more solid insert for where the plastic insert goes in the 1010. But at £1.60 it can't be a Festool metal part.

Do I want one?  [scared]

Are we sure the part is correct? It does sound tremendously cheap for a metal ring from festool.

I was about to buy 3 guide bushes for my 1010 tomorrow, might change my plan.

I should have said thanks too. So thanks.

Is there such an adaptor for the OF1400 too does anyone know?

And if the Festool part is £1.96, why is the Leigh adaptor on Axi website £20 more than that?

I've tried to find the part number 469625 on festool.co.uk and it comes up with nothing.

I am now sure I am missing some part to this, perhaps the guy (WoodMatt) who ordered the part successfully and is now ordering the UJK set could enlighten me?

Because the Festool one is plastic. It was much more expensive previously (when I bought one!)

It's a spare part (for the US market predominantly) so doesn't appear on the UK website as an accessory.

The OF 1400 version is P/N 493566, is metal, and is much more satisfyingly expensive...

Does it work? Seems a little barmy to me screwing a threaded metal thing into a threaded plastic thing, but then I suppose it isn't that barmy when you consider the convenience of it all over the two screw in metal ones (which are Festool priced).

I expect it's all been discussed before and I'm late to the party, just wanted to be able to use the smaller router with some of my jigs - for jigs read scraps of plywood glued together to form some kind of line or something. So as they are all pretty much designed (and I use the term very loosely) for 30mm or 17mm guide bushes - mainly 'cos they are from my old Bosch days, I may as well stick to plan A.

Sorry, let's start again.

The first post asks where to get a guide bush adaptor, second post suggests getting from Axi and also to get the set of UJK bushes.

From that I (wrongly) extrapolated that there was a threaded adaptor for the 1010 that the threaded bushes fitted into.

Third post suggests getting the part from N&B for £1.61 leaving me with questions about whether it was a metal part as an old Amazon link http://www.amazon.co.uk/Festool-469625-Guide-Bushing-Adaptor/dp/B003618HSC shows it as being a metal part. A metal part for £1.61? Surely not.

Indeed not.

So, given I was already buying (although I doubt they'll be in stock) the copying rings you've linked I was hoping there was an easier way.

Hope that clarifies my confusion, the Amazon link was clearly the wrong picture.

Whenever I see "guide bush", I immediately think "steering shrubbery".

Are they not called bushings? Do the Brits also have "roller bears"?

I continually get a kick out of the "protectors of the language"...

Steering shrubbery reminds me of some of the directions I received years ago before easy navigation... I was once told to go to the street with all the trees and turn at the 2-story house with the porch. Another time, I was told to go down the gravel road and turn right at the barking dog, and then go a ways down and veer left at the big red bush, the "steering shrubbery". I actually found both places.

It does. Try this one from this post http://festoolownersgroup.com/festool-tools-accessories/festool-guide-bushing-adaptor-issue/msg299171/#msg299171

I have the Festool plastic one as well as the Leigh 704R metal one and would definitely recommend the latter, but it is £15.56 (£19.51 delivered) versus the £1.61 Festool plastic one.

Back on track. Yes, that looks like a better solution and less likely to break too.

I'll see if there's anything else they have that makes the delivery more palatable.

Hi all. While we're at it. I've just bought a Leigh dovetail jig. I wish to use this with my OF1400. I believe Axminster sell a similar 'bushing' adapter for the Leigh 'bushings'. Could I use this with the UJK set of 'bushings' with the Leigh imperial cutters and Jig. I think the UJK set could come in handy for other tasks. Thanks all.
Peter

The bushings should be the same format in terms of diameter. Don't quote me on this, but I think they're known as "Porter Cable" standard so I assume PC came out with them first?

So once you have either the Festool or Leigh guide bush adapters, you should be good to go with both the Leigh 'bushings' and the UJK Technologies set.

I have covered the guide bush adapter and both the Leigh and UJK guide bushes in my OF 1010 videos. I also cover the use of the mandrel which is quite important with most guide bush work. I think that Part 2 covers most of the points of interest in this thread.
