Alright guys, I may have messed something up here.

I’ve got an old Festool Kapex (495773) that went completely dead a few weeks ago — most likely a burnt control board.
Today I started replacing the control board / refurbishment kit (205565) and suddenly ended up with a loose wire in my hand, wondering where it came from.

After some digging I found out it was the other end of the PTC sensor (Positive Temperature Coefficient). See photo. It looks like a small ceramic element at the end of two thin wires, and I can’t see any obvious break or damage.

Does anyone know how this PTC sensor is supposed to be mounted on the Kapex?
Should it simply be pressed back into its hole so it sits close to the windings, or is it supposed to be glued or bonded to the winding in order to work correctly?

I found the PTC sensor listed as a separate spare part (491722) from Festool, which suggests it isn’t permanently glued to the winding — but I’m not fully sure.

Before I order a replacement, it would be great to know how it’s actually meant to be installed.
