There are a couple companies that compete with Stabila on levels but they sure aren't Stanley.
Like everything else, it depends on your needs. Stabila holds up in heavy construction better than any others we've tried.
Innovation is beyond anyone else for the reasons mentioned above plus they have aluminum beam levels with top shield to take the pounding (with a hammer) that is done by masons. That means they don't have to use expensive wood ones that can get damaged by moisture.
One of my neighbors uses one he found on the side of a highway where it had come out of a truck. He bought new bumpers and checked the accuracy and it is fine.
