Festool levels

There are a couple companies that compete with Stabila on levels but they sure aren't Stanley.

Like everything else, it depends on your needs. Stabila holds up in heavy construction better than any others we've tried.

Innovation is beyond anyone else for the reasons mentioned above plus they have aluminum beam levels with top shield to take the pounding (with a hammer) that is done by masons. That means they don't have to use expensive wood ones that can get damaged by moisture.

One of my neighbors uses one he found on the side of a highway where it had come out of a truck. He bought new bumpers and checked the accuracy and it is fine.

Because, BECAUSE, Festool are primarily a power tool manufacturer. Also as pointed out, these levels are Stabila rebrands, so if you want them, just get them from Stabila. The only reason to want them in Festool guise is if you value the name on your tools more than their functionality!

There is a sucker born every minute and this level is a perfect example. It's a rebranded marked up Stabila. If you need a level then buy a Stabila (or other brand) and move on. Paying extra for what is exactly the same tool, but green is insane. Festool should stick to making great tools and not getting into tertiary areas like rebranded hand tools, coolers, and assorted swag.

It's just a piece of aluminum (machined, extruded, etc) with a few bubbles attached.

I've never understood paying a premium for these devices.  So it has edges guaranteed to some hundredths of an inch.  What you are still looking at is the bubble of air being centered in a small glass chamber.

Um I guess you have never had to install something that has zero tolerance for level then. Coloured glass splash backs are a big thing here ATM and they come with set square ends. If a run of cabinets is just a hair out in any direction then the vertical corners simply do not fit and last I checked they don't make silicone in fuscia pink!!!

So what is the difference between a $30 bubble level and a $130 bubble level?  A measure of error in degrees that you can cite?

Just curious.
