Are there any plans to bring into NA some of the metal (automotive) finishing products that would fit the RO series sanders, like buffing and polishing compounds and attachments?  If so, when could one anticipate seeing them?

Shane, I was thinking of some of the attachments shown in the video in this message.  More specifically, I've not noticed the waffle-cut pads used for finish polishing as well as the compounds.  I currently use felt pads on my RO125 for finish polishing headlight lenses, but haven't seen similar felt pads for the RO90.

Here are the waffle sponges for RO 150/90 and the felt for the RO 90. Compatibility for the 150mm waffle sponges says Shinex, but it will also work with the RO 150 which has the same size pad.

I own, and have used pretty much all the pads Shane listed in the various sizes for both my RO90 and my Shinex. I also have the Coarse Yellow Pad , 150mm size, and the Medium, all-around Orange pad as well in both 150mm and 90mm
I own a couple more of the 150mm pads from Festool that fall in between the Coarse and very Fine pads
The Black waffle or Honeycomb pads are great for following curves on a surface easily. My favorite waxing applying pads.
They will break down easier than the firmer/tougher pads, but that's to be expected.
Coarse pad/Yellow pad is great for tough/rough work that you would use a fairly coarse compound on. You have to have a light touch with a rotary machine or polisher as more material can be removed off the surface before you know it when using this pad.
Medium/Orange Pad. My most used pads by far since it works well with Swirl Remover, Paint Glaze, Sealant, Polishes of multiple grits etc. Just vary the pressure and time the pads on the work to add to your control in addition to the grit of the compound you're using.  A real workhorse of a pad.
For cleaning any of the above pads, I switch from dishwashing soap or other regular soap and now just use Griots Micro-Fiber/Pad cleaning solution. You don't need much, and it really cuts through any of the wet or dried residue to leave a fresh clean pad surface for the next time you're using the pad. Don't know what's in this stuff, but I demo'ed some to a Festool Rep last year, he was amazed like I was the first time I used it.  [eek]
Thanks for the fill-in, Leaky.  Car finishes are a new world for me, so any wisdom imparted is appreciated.

+1 on Griots pad cleaner.  Great stuff.  Saves me a lot on not having to buy pads but just clean them after polish or wax.

Would love more of a tutorial or walk through on how others will be using the polishing compounds.
