I was in the Woodcraft store in San Antonio and was standing around the Festool display when I guy came by and we struck up a conversation.  He was originally from the U.S. but now lives somewhere in the interior of Mexico where he does custom cabinetry and wood carving.  He said he has to drive 14 hours to get to San Antonio, the closest place to find Festool! [scared] [scared]  He loves the stuff (who doesn't) and only wished he could buy it there.  He tried shipping something once but it never made it to him.  He was thankful that he has never had a service issue since he would have to bring it over here to get it worked on.  He must really live in the sticks since he was admiring the Kapex and said he had never seen one before!  So that begs the question, why not Mexico?  Lot's of excellent craftsmen down there who could really appreciate it.  I googled it and found nothing.  Is it not a big enough market?

There is an importer of Festool in Mexico. A few of our guys have been down there to visit.

Etapel, S.A. de C.V.
California No. 167 Col. Parque
San Andrés
Mexico, D.F. 04040
Phone: 0052 55 56 89 50 55

I should mention that Festool was originally handled in the same manner in the U.S. market before it became an official subsidiary of Festool.

Thanks, Shane.  Too bad I didn't get the guys name.  This info would have saved him a bunch of time!

Don't waste your time with Etapel, they don't have a good service, neither the full line, they don't have a person with the knowdlege to help you, they made promises but only that, they have a lot of excuses and they have very high prices. I bought my TS-75 there and all of my other Festools in USA. I live in Mexico City.
I can't understand why Festool choose Etapel to be a dealer in Mexico  [mad]

Well i have done bussines with etapel Monterrey very pleased with the outcome, i got my conturo just a few weeks after it was released in europe, the cost well it was more or less fair as it was been imported directly from Germany, but I do normally get my festools online

Holy cow are they expensive in Mexico!  A regular Domino is about $1400!  No wonder the people down there order from the U.S. dealers.  That is crazy.
