Festool Table Saw Survey

I just got and completed a survey from Festool that consisted of 24 questions about table saws, with a chance to win a CT 26 for taking the time.  It got me wondering if this survey was Festool fishing for ideas for a new product or if this was Festool checking if the market was ready for a Festool table saw, like the CMS with a saw insert.  I just got the TS 75 insert for the CMS from the UK, and this survey made me wonder if Festool was thinking of offering the insert (of the TS 75 one) here, or if they were going to design a new insert (they asked about blade breaking technology), or they were developing or were going to offer an entirely dedicated table saw offering, like the CS 70 or 50.  Has anyone else gotten this survey?  Does anyone else have any ideas or thoughts about what Festool might have up their sleeves?

Pretty pointless question.

Those who know what Festool got up their sleeve will of course keep their mouths shut untill the product is ready for launch. Those who don't know can only do some pointless speculation.

I'd say their engineers are of course always busy with new stuff, and Festool uses surveys like the one you've done to find out what the market would like to see.

I got and completed the same survey.  Some of the questions were kinda silly, though.  Maybe just planted to confuse?  Laser cut indicator for a table saw??

I agree with seriousness of some of the questions.  Here is the link: https://www.surveymonkey.com/s/CBGTTSN

As for the pointlessness of the whole post, I probably should have just asked Shane directly whether or not the holding of the breath regarding the CS 70 or CS 50 coming to the US was still in effect, and if he had any knowledge on the table saw insert for the CMS was coming here anytime.  I didn't see it on the list that is pinned at the top of the Tools & Accessories page.

LOL!  I got through two questions and was eliminated!! [big grin]

Apparently, if you're not interested in a benchtop saw, they aren't interested in ya!  (I have a Sawstop PCS, that I LOVE!)

Oh well, thanks for the link.

What's life without speculation?  There wouldn't be a stock market otherwise!  Haha  Its kinda like everybody guessing what the next iPhone will be, etc...it's fun!

I would love to see a portable table saw option in the USA. I don't find that the track saw is the answer to everything. In my world, a table saw will seemingly always exist!  Bring it boys!!!

The survey first 2 questions are plain idiotic in a way.
1) Do I own a table saw? -> No. That is why I use Festool saw
2) Do you plan on buying one? -> No because I use Festool saw.

Eliminated!
Wouldn't make sense to ask why or present it that way: Festool is thinking about making a cool table saw, what do you think of this? Would you consider buying a saw then???
Now, they'll get a bunch of results from people like us that tell them there is no market for a Festool table saw simply because they say that they are not interested in a "table saw", but yet would strongly be interested in a "Festool Table Saw".

Well, actually the question was "Do you own a BENCHTOP table saw", and "Do you plan on buying a BENCHTOP table saw".  Not so idiotic. I have a SawStop, which can't be called a benchtop. I understand the focus here, and I haven't owned a transportable benchtop since I sold my Bosch five year ago! [big grin]

Clearly the focus is on portability and I certainly didn't qualify...(but it would have been nice to have been entered in the drawing anyway). OH... and how come FestoolUSA hasn't posted the winner of June's freebie draw yet??

Yup, pretty silly.

Actually I own a Unisaw cabinet saw and am thinking seriously of selling it.  It just takes up too much space.  The decision would be pretty much a no-brainer if there were a good portable table saw on the market.

Most of the questions seemed to make sense in terms of feature rationalisation. I can also see how the questions could help ascertain the viability of current Festool products in the US/NA.

I can't see it as viable for Festool to try and compete in the fixed table saw space, so bypassing those is fairly rational too.

Did the survey change?

There was nothing about table saws on the one I filled out

Are you implying that asking whether an individual owns a table saw is plane idiotic or simply owning a table saw is plane idiotic? I don’t get it.

Most every question seemed tuned to find out if the respondent might be interested in the CMS and saw insert pretty much as it exists today.   At least that's my impression.

So I'm interested.   Send my my CT26 and get busy doing whatever it takes to get that rig over here already.

How can you say that? ... it's a survey for the benefit of the entity collecting the information ... then you go into a draw for a prize.

I just completed the survey. I need a table saw and want another CT26  [cool]

Hmmm. I already have a Festool table saw, but I didn't get the survey. I wonder how I would answer the questions.

Go take anyway!  The link works.  And here's the drill.  Consider the CMS characteristics and answer the questions as if the saw insert, just like it is right now, would be your personal gift from Heaven.

I had my wife take the survey too.  Based on how I answered the.....  I mean, how SHE answered the questions, I'd say her life is pretty much over if she can't get a CMS saw insert.

I have a lot of respect for the track record of your posts here, but, this is low.  First you bias the survey then "cheat" the honest out of a chance to win a CT.
